From March 1 through May 31 each year, mountain bikers, hikers, trail runners
and equestrians of all ages are encouraged to experience ten of the best and most
beautiful multi-use trails in COSCA Open Space. To verify completion of a specified trail,
participants send photos via email, Twitter, or Instagram to the volunteer event
organizers. The 2019 Challenge flyer is included as Attachment 1.

The Challenge is organized by volunteers, while staff provides assistance in relation to
advertising the event on COSCA’s, the City of Thousand Oaks’, and the Conejo
Recreation and Park District’s websites and social media outlets.

The event has experienced increased participation each year. In 2019, approximately
160 individuals participated and 125 finished the event. A post-event picnic and prize
raffle was held at Conejo Creek North Park on June 7, 2019 to celebrate the efforts of
participants.

PREPARED BY: Anna Huber, COSCA Analyst
Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency

Attachments:

Attachment #1 – 2019 Conejo Open Space Challenge Flyer

H:\COMMON\COSCA\Board Meeting Records-Info (531-20)\Reports (Written & Verbal)\OS Challenge Update
20190911.docx
